Civil Code
The Civil Code of Ethiopia was adopted in 1960 as proclamation no. 165 of 1960. Since then it has been in operation with one major change and minor amendments. The family law part is repealed and replaced by nine family codes of regional states and a federal family code for Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa.
